The results of RDI's latest Online Learning survey have been released today.

Almost 3,000 people completed the Annual survey, providing an insight in to how people want to enhance their career through online learning.

• There remains high interest in all professional pathways through RDI. The most popular being IT & Telecommunications and Management – two pathways which offer clear career progression and application in the working environment.
  
  
• Approximately equal numbers are seeking degrees and postgraduate qualifications. It is also worth noting that many RDI students go on to gain both degree and MBA qualifications.
  
  
• Findings highlight that online learning is no longer simply an option for those in their later years. The combination of multiple entry points for both MBA and degree, increased competition in the job market and the advancement of online technology has meant that online learning is now a positive alternative for many.
  
  
• The majority of respondents have predicted that more people will seek online alternatives to traditional study due to shortage of places and the predicted UK tuition fee increase.
  
  
• The biggest reason to consider online learning is the ability to continue to work full time. Over 90% of students with RDI have a career alongside their studies, giving them a valuable wage and the ability to put what they learn directly into practice.
  
  
• The goal of most students is satisfaction of self-improvement. The power of positive thinking and confidence is often overlooked when planning a career, but university qualifications offer a firm foundation on which to build.
