Description: All managers are required to develop core knowledge and skills in each of the generic areas of People Management and Development to enable them to contribute and add value to their organisations. This course seeks to develop knowledge and understanding of the principle areas of HRM/PM and D including resourcing, development, relations and reward and the competing perspectives of the various stakeholders. A strong focus of this course will be that of the role of line managers in accepting and delivering their role as people managers given the continuing trend of devolution of HR practices and procedures. Participants will be expected to critically evaluate HR/PM and D policies and practices within organisational settings.
